The Megan’s Law website currently provides information about sex offenders in California including their name, resident or zip code, physical description, what crime they were convicted of and a picture. AB 1235 requires that the Megan’s Law website also state whether the sex offender is on parole, and if the offender is being monitored by a GPS device or other electronic device. Parents and the general public need this information to better protect their children and the community from dangerous predators.
