Currently most career technical courses are offered through regional occupational centers or programs (ROC/Ps). However, some school districts offer career partnership academies, which combine career technical education with traditional high school courses such as English and math related to the career technical courses offered by the partnership academy. AB 974 allows ROC/Ps to operate partnership academies, enabling the ROC/Ps to offer academic courses relevant to the technical skills students are already learning.
