This bill increases high school students’ access to career technical education courses offered at community colleges. The current enrollment process for high school students is cumbersome and can limit their opportunities to learn vital technical skills. AB 32 streamlines the current enrollment process and provides that the student can directly enroll in career-technical education classes at the community college, provided the student has passed the California High School Exit Exam, has parental permission and the course is not offered at the student’s high school.
